Ernesto Brodersohn
Ernesto has over 27 Years of international experience, working in the US, Mexico, and Switzerland as a specialist in social protection, as a regulator, supervisor, and consultant. He is currently the senior official at the International Social Security Association (ISSA) in charge of coordinating the technical commissions of Organization, Management, and Innovation (OMI) as well as Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT). Before ISSA, he was an independent consultant working on various projects with international organizations supporting government entities and regulators to build capacity and strengthen pension systems and financial inclusion in multiple countries. During his five years as an independent consultant, he worked in the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean, where he led and participated in various pension and coverage extension projects, as well as analyzed regulations, and supported policy decisions on World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank-funded projects. Some topics he participated in included informal sector pension schemes, regional approaches to dealing with pensions for migrant workers, strengthening regulation to foster better pension systems, establishing and adopting best practices, and supporting regulators in building better internal processes to supervise and regulate the pension industry. From 2020 to 2021, he also worked with the Toronto Centre to improve regulators’ capacity and become better equipped to analyze technology-driven financial inclusion to address gender challenges. He has participated in and organized countless international conferences, workshops, and webinars with ISSA, the World Bank, and other organizations. He has also co-authored and contributed to various publications.
