For the last two decades, Francisco Quintana has amassed a distinguished record as a human rights attorney in the Americas. He has represented hundreds of victims before the Intern-American Commission and Court, obtaining ground-breaking decisions on forced disappearance in Honduras; immigrant rights, ethnic discrimination and the right to nationality in the Dominican Republic; rights of persons deprived of liberty, extrajudicial executions, and violence against women in Venezuela; freedom of expression and refugee’s rights in Panama, indigenous people’s rights in Colombia and Ecuador, among others.
As a former Program Director for the Andean, North America and Caribbean Region at the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) in Washington, D.C., he conducted various advocacy initiatives before the Organization of American States (OAS). In the past year, he has led civil society´s response to the Venezuelan migration crisis as Coordinator of the Working Group on Venezuelan Human Mobility. Mr. Quintana is also the founder of the Americas Network on Nationality and Statelessness.

Mr. Quintana received his law degree from UNAM in Mexico City and his LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Between 2004 and 2006, he served as senior staff attorney at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
