Halefom H. Abraha is a distinguished Assistant Professor at Utrecht University’s International and European Law Department. Specializing in AI regulation, algorithmic management, and data protection, he brings a rich background in legal and digital technology studies. His expertise extends to advising international bodies, including the European Parliament, on digital policy issues. Dr. Abraha completed a joint PhD at the University of Malta and Edith Cowan University, focusing on cross-border data access for law enforcement, which earned him the 2021 Dean’s Awards for Academic Excellence. He also held a postdoctoral research position at the University of Oxford’s Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.
