Jana Winter
Jana Winter plays a pivotal role as the project coordinator, research associate, and co-author for AGIDE (“Academies for Global Innovation and Digital Ethics”), a collaborative project led by the Austrian Academy of Sciences along with 10 other prestigious Academies of Sciences, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts worldwide, which focuses on exploring differences and international perspectives of digital ethics and local and internaional governance of AI technologies. Her academic background is rooted in philosophy and ethics, with a specific emphasis on the philosophy of technology, digital ethics, and interdisciplinary ethics and technology. Under the guidance of Prof. Coeckelbergh at the Department of Philosophy (University of Vienna), her research focuses on values, design, and liberty. During her undergraduate tenure, she served as a tutor for several professors, including Ass. Prof. Romizi, Ass. Prof. Graness, and Univ. Prof. Stenger, spanning disciplines such as Ethics, Intercultural Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and Philosophy in a Global World. In 2020, she contributed as a research assistant to Ass. Prof. Weng on an interdisciplinary endeavor involving engineering, law, and ethics, with a specific focus on human-robot interaction in Japan (Tohoku University). This experience ignited her passion to pursue further studies in Interdisciplinary Ethics, with a keen interest in technology, digital ethics, and Philosophy of Technology.
