Karin Miesenberger is an accomplished Design Director and a profound researcher in the fields of urbanism, architecture, interior, and product design. Currently, she holds the position of Design Director at COOP HIMMELB(L)AU Wolf D. Prix & Partner, a role she has excelled in since July 2020. With over 22 years at the firm, Karin has significantly contributed to its reputation as a leader in innovative architectural design.

Karin earned a PhD in Architecture, focusing on Innovation Culture spurred by appropriate technology applications in challenging urban environments. Her research delves deeply into design strategies pertinent to informal environments, slums, and the creation of affordable living spaces in megacities. She also explores circular design thinking, new technologies, and urban futures.

Prior to her current role, Karin was a Design Architect and Project Leader, where she led projects and represented the firm in the Republic of India from September 2016 to March 2017, further showcasing her leadership and expertise in high-stakes international contexts.
