Kelly Forbes is the Executive Director of the AI Asia Pacific Institute, dedicated to addressing the social, legal, and ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) through international cooperation. A bilingual lawyer qualified in both Common and Civil Law systems, Kelly has made significant contributions in AI governance, serving as a member of the IEEE P2863TM Standards Development Group and on the DIFC Regulation 10 Advisory Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from UNICURITIBA and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The Australian National University. Kelly is also an active speaker and editorial board member at Springer Nature’s AI and Ethics Journal.
