Malik Faraoun
Malik is a Senior Investment Manager at The OPEC Fund for International Development, where he leads the execution of large-scale investments in emerging markets across various sectors. Previously, Malik served as Director at Themis, a leading project developer and investor focused on renewable energy assets in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also held the role of Director at the World Economic Forum, where he led the Forum’s strategy, content, and engagement with top businesses, governments, and civil society leaders as Head of Community Development for the Middle East and North Africa. Additionally, Malik was a founding team member and Principal Investment Officer of Africa 50 at the African Development Bank, where he led technical activities and participated in closing multiple project finance transactions worth USD 1.5 billion. Before joining the AfDB, Malik worked in advisory services at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the Middle East and North Africa Region and had prior experience in private banking and consulting.
Malik holds an MBA from EDHEC Business School and an Executive Master degree in Global Leadership from a joint program of INSEAD (France), Wharton School (USA), London Business School (UK), Columbia University (USA), and China Europe International Business School (China).
