Maria is a visionary leader in sustainability, with a 22-year career advancing ESG frameworks across industries such as Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy, Investments, and Services. Based in the United Arab Emirates and of Greek origin, Maria leads the “Sustainability Switch Consultancy” and is committed to steering diverse stakeholders towards ambitious net-zero goals and rigorous social sustainability benchmarks. She also serves as Board Co-Chair and Sustainability Chair for “Lean In Equity and Sustainability,” advocating for women’s roles in the energy transition and promoting inclusivity. Maria’s academic foundation includes a UK Master’s in Civil Engineering and Sustainability Qualifications from Cambridge University, enhancing her blend of theoretical and practical expertise. Her international experience spans leadership in large-scale projects and governmental initiatives, significantly influencing sector-wide decarbonization strategies.
