Maximilien Houël

Maximilien Houël is a skilled Earth Observation Software Development Consultant with nearly five years of experience in the field, currently freelancing in France. He specializes in integrating satellite imagery with machine learning techniques to enhance analysis capabilities. Maximilien is dedicated to advancing the use of these technologies to improve Earth observation science.

Since October 2019, Maximilien has been a Junior Software Developer at SISTEMA GmbH in Vienna, where he is a part of the research and development team. His work focuses on remote sensing and artificial intelligence for satellite imagery processing and analysis. Previously, he served as an intern at UNOSAT in Geneva, where he was a technical operator in remote sensing and GIS for the conflict team. During his tenure, he contributed to the ESA project EO4SD, designing automatic image processing and machine learning models for urban extent classification.

Additionally, in the summer of 2018, Maximilien observed the intelligence cell of the French Marine Nationale, where he researched geospatial intelligence issues and the potential applications of GeoAI, further enhancing his expertise in the field.
