Otabek Rashidov is the Programme Officer at the Action against Terrorism Unit in the Transnational Threats Department at the OSCE Secretariat. He is responsible for the design and implementation of capacity-building activities as well as the overall co-ordination of the Organization’s activities in Countering the Use of Internet for Terrorist Purposes. Prior to joining the OSCE Secretariat in 2018, Otabek was for seven years with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, where he run OSCE projects on countering illicit drug circulation, terrorism, as well as enhancing border security and cyber security. Before joining the OSCE, he worked as Political/Security Advisor to Japan’s International Co-operation Agency office in Tashkent, and prior to that he had ten years with the Uzbek law enforcement agencies. In addition to his Master Degree in ICT and Applied Mathematics from the Tashkent State University, Otabek holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of York (U.K.), with a specialization in International Development. In 2023 Otabek obtained a Professional Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Rome Business School.
