Call for Conference Articles


We are excited to announce that the AI for Developing Countries Forum is now accepting submissions for conference articles. We invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry experts to share their insights and innovations in the field of artificial intelligence as it pertains to developing countries. The conference will be held on July 17-18, 2024, in Vienna, Austria.

Submission Topics We are looking for articles that align with the themes outlined in the “2024 AI for Developing Countries Forum Theme Handbook.” These themes are crucial for guiding the discussions and ensuring that the forum addresses the most pressing issues in AI development and application in developing countries. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Technology Should Serve Humanity: Focuses on making AI human-centric, sustainable, and supportive of UN SDGs.
  • Restructuring of Production Subjects: Discusses the shift from PGC to AIGC and its impact on labor and collaboration in developing countries.
  • Imbalanced Employment Structure: Addresses employment challenges posed by AI and strategies for skill development and retraining.
  • Cognitive Bias, Illusion Correction, and Fact Obfuscation: Tackles AI-driven misinformation, bias, and the need for data privacy and security regulations.
  • AI Market Access, Pricing, and Revenue Models: Explores fair pricing, robust business models, and competition in AI markets in developing countries.
  • Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainable Development in Web3: Leverages decentralized technologies and AI for sustainable growth and establishes regulatory standards.
  • AI Development and Equal Access to Law: Enhances judicial efficiency and accessibility through AI while addressing technological and infrastructural barriers.
  • AI Design Principles: Focuses on ethical and frugal AI design tailored to the needs and challenges of developing countries.

Submission Guidelines

  • Format: Articles should be clear and well-organized. They should include an abstract, keywords, main text, references, and any necessary appendices, but the format does not need to be strictly academic.
  • Length: Submissions should be between 1000 to 2500 words.
  • Language: All articles must be written in English.
  • Deadline: Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis with no specific deadline.
  • Submission Process: Please submit your articles via below form.

Selected articles may be showcased at the conference and published online. Additionally, the articles will be circulated among participants and the wider community.
